MUSIC LESSONS POLICY
•If a student plans to be absent from a lesson, the Academy or the teacher should be notified twenty-four hours in advance.
•In the event that the Academy or teacher has not been given a reasonable amount of notice in order to re-schedule the lesson, there will be no obligation on the part of the Academy or teacher to make up the lesson.
•A lesson missed with good reason may me made up on another mutually agreed day.
•A lesson may be made up only if it has to be missed because of a ‘very important’ reason, e.g., serious illness, sudden family bereavement, etc.
•Lessons to be made up CANNOT be carried over from one term to another.
•If a student is more than 15 minutes late for a lesson, the teacher is NOT obliged to give the lesson. In this case the lesson shall be deemed to have been given.
SUBJECTS OFFERED:
We offer tuition in Piano, Keyboard, Voice, Recorder, Flute, Violin, Guitar, Drumset, Saxophone and Brass Instruments.
All fees are paid in advance. Total tuition fees for one subject for the year can be paid in one payment and will be Le 300,000.
If students wish to pay their fees by term, these will be Le 170,000 for the Afiwa Term and Le 210,000 for the Boima Term.
OTHER SUBJECTS OFFERED:
Classes for Young Ballanta Singers are offered on Tuesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Fees for this subject are Le 50,000 per term.
Classes in traditional African Dance and Drumming are offered on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am – 12:00 midday for children. The fees are Le 100,000 per term. Adult classes are offered on Saturday afternoons from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Fees are Le 100,000 per term.
Students are encouraged to take part in the African Dance and Drumming in order to qualify for the Academy’s certificates.
Courses are offered during the holiday term (9 July – 29 Sept 2007) as separate from the other courses outlined above. Fees for the holiday school are Le 120,000.
